Teodora A. Santos

Dory is not just a voracious reader, she writes children’s stories too! She has already come up with her two big books with her original stories. This versatile lady also loves to train pupils in Readers’ Theatre and Storytelling. She sums up the value of books in Colton ’s saying, “Next to acquiring good friends, the best acquisition is that of good books.”
Rubelyn A. Renegado
Grade III
Rubelyn believes that reading is the greatest skill in order to succeed in life. Since ECARP (Every Child A Reader Program) is hammered on grade three, she was also asked to join the Reading Team of the school. She likes doing her task since it is the “heart” of the matter. As Thomas Carlyle put it, “What we become depends on what we read after all the professors are finished with us. The greatest university of all is a collection of books.”
Albert I. Sun Jr.
Grade Four
The only thorn among the roses, this gentleman has been a lover of books. His pupils are fond of their Sir Albert who has lots of surprising activities in their reading class. For him, teaching reading is fun! He believes in what EF Wells said, “A man who does not discipline himself to read has narrowed his freedom to choose between ideas. He is confined to what he hears. He is at the mercy of the propagandist. He has limited his freedom to think.”
Grade Five
This very confident lady believes that reading is a ‘survival’ skill. As a moderator of the school paper, she also harnesses the children’s love for writing. She adheres to Ellen G. White’s saying, “The religious experience is to a great degree determined by the character of the books you read in your leisure moments.”
Mary Jean F. Leonar
Grade Six
“I cannot live without books!” is the motto of this bookworm. That is why she accepted the task to be a part of the Reading Team and to oversee the Reading Center of the school. For her, the Bible is the most important book. “The Bible is a window in this prison world, through which we may look into eternity. (Timothy Dwight).”
Roldan R. Roperos
IT Coordinator
Sir Roldan has been “a very present help in times of need.” Because of his generosity in sharing his expertise in computer web and blog designing, Davao City ’s schools can now be highlighted in the whole wide web. Helpful and responsible, this creative fellow believes that reading spurs imagination. “It is only when the imagination is active that man takes wings. At all other times he is clogged, sluggish, earthbound-a dull, joyless creature. And it is the impossible that that really inspires him most of all. (Sir Arthur Bryant)”
